The Catholic Diocese of Evansville is accepting applications for a
full time Director’s position in ministry to youth and young
adults. The individual must be a professed and
active Roman Catholic, have a master’s degree in a related
field, and have a certificate in Youth Ministry. The successful
candidate will have administrative, supervisory, policy development,
planning and organizational skills as well as excellent communication
skills. Functions include budgeting, hiring and supervising
college campus ministers, establishing a network for people
ministering to youth and young adults in the diocese, and establishing
guidelines for parish youth ministers. The director will propose
and implement diocesan policy for youth and young adult
ministry, as well as develop and guide an advisory group.
The director will serve as a diocesan spokesperson on matters
relating to youth and young adult ministry, and serve as a
communications link for diocesan and parish ministers with
national organizations and movements and the USCCB.
Current movements and activities include Scouting for
Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Source and Summit
(formerly Youth 2000), Teens Encounter Christ,
Communion and Liberation and Maria Goretti Awards.
